Carpe App LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Carpe mobile application and carpe-app.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using Carpe, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information you provide: When you use Carpe, you may provide a city or address to search nearby recommendations. If you create an account, we collect your display name, home city, and email address. We also store filter preferences you set (cuisine types, price ranges, activity styles, etc.).
Usage analytics: We collect anonymized usage data including spin type, content category, city searched, and an anonymized user identifier (user_hash). We also store your spin history if you are logged in. This data is used to improve recommendations and understand usage patterns. It is not linked to your name or personal identity.
Location data: If you grant permission, we use your device's GPS to find nearby recommendations. We do not store your precise GPS coordinates on our servers. Location is used only in the moment to surface relevant results.
Device information: We collect device type, operating system version, and app version for crash reporting and compatibility purposes.
What we do not collect: We do not store precise GPS coordinates, sell your personal information, or collect payment details directly.
We use the information we collect to surface relevant restaurant, activity, event, and streaming recommendations near you; remember your preferences across sessions; improve app performance and fix bugs; send transactional communications (account-related emails only); and comply with legal obligations.
Carpe surfaces recommendations that may link to third-party services including Viator, OpenTable, Ticketmaster, DoorDash, Uber Eats, Uber, and Lyft. When you tap a booking or action button, you may be directed to a partner's website or app. Carpe may receive a commission when you complete a booking through a partner link. This compensation does not affect which results are shown to you or in what order. Partner services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them before completing any transaction.
If you subscribe to Carpe's sponsor or business features, payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your credit card number or payment details on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL). We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at privacy@carpe-app.com.
Account data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time. Usage and analytics data is retained for up to 12 months. Error logs are retained for 14 days. Location data is not stored on our servers beyond the duration of your session.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, delete your account and associated data, and opt out of non-essential data collection. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@carpe-app.com. We will respond within 30 days.
California Residents (CCPA): If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
Carpe is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at privacy@carpe-app.com and we will delete it promptly.
Carpe uses the following third-party services which may collect information as described in their own privacy policies: Supabase (database & backend), Stripe (payment processing), Cloudflare (content delivery & security), Viator (activity booking), and OpenTable (restaurant reservations).
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

By downloading, installing, or using the Carpe mobile application or carpe-app.com (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
Carpe is an activity and restaurant discovery platform that uses a spin mechanic to help users decide what to do, where to eat, and what to watch. The Service surfaces recommendations from a database of restaurants, activities, events, and streaming content across the United States.
Account creation is optional. If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to update it as necessary. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not use the Service to scrape, copy, or redistribute our data; attempt to reverse engineer or interfere with the Service; impersonate any person or entity; or engage in any activity that could harm Carpe App LLC, its users, or third parties.
The Service contains affiliate links to third-party platforms including Viator, OpenTable, Ticketmaster, DoorDash, Uber Eats, Uber, and Lyft. When you interact with these services through Carpe, you leave our platform and are subject to the third party's own terms and privacy policy. Carpe may receive a commission on transactions completed through affiliate links. This does not affect the price you pay.
Business listings in Carpe are sourced from public databases and third-party data providers. We make no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of listing information including hours, addresses, or pricing. Businesses may claim and update their listings through the Carpe Business Portal.
Business subscriptions ($49/mo Boost and $149/mo Boost Pro) are billed monthly via Stripe. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial months. Carpe reserves the right to modify pricing with 30 days notice.
All content, trademarks, logos, and software associated with Carpe are the property of Carpe App LLC. The "Carpe" name and logo are pending trademark registration. You may not use our intellectual property without prior written consent.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. We make no warranty regarding the accuracy of restaurant or activity listings.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Carpe App LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed $100.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Carpe App LLC and its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Duval County, Florida.
We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
